Emily Rose Eichholtz, MS, CCLS

Hello! My name is Emily, and I'm a dedicated Child Life Specialist with a deep passion for making a positive impact on the lives of children in the most challenging circumstances. My journey in the field of child life has been shaped by a commitment to ensuring the emotional and psychological well-being of pediatric patients, particularly those in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).

I hold a Master of Science degree from Boston University, where I honed my expertise in child development and the critical aspects of child life support. My educational background has provided me with a strong foundation to better understand and assist children during their healthcare journeys.

Before my work in the PICU, I served as an in-home clinician for children with behavioral needs. This experience not only sharpened my ability to connect with children but also allowed me to develop essential skills in communication, empathy, and adaptability, all of which have proven invaluable in my role as a Child Life Specialist.

I am truly passionate about child development and the fundamental principles of child life. I believe that children deserve to be nurtured, supported, and understood during their hospitalization, and my mission is to create an environment where they can feel safe, engage in play, and learn about their medical experiences in a way that eases their fears and anxieties.

In my role, I strive to be a source of comfort, knowledge, and positivity for the children I work with, as well as their families. It's my honor to be a part of their healthcare journey, and I am committed to making it as smooth and emotionally enriching as possible.

 

I look forward to continuing to learn and grow in my field, always seeking new ways to improve the lives of the young patients under my care. Together, with the help of the child life fundamentals and my dedication, we can make a significant difference in the lives of children during their hospitalization.
